Bromley Alzheimer's Society
The Bromley Branch of the Alzheimer's Disease Society was formed about 20 years ago and the Society opened it's first Day Centre in 1986.
The Branch is now located at "White Gables" the Day Centre provided for sufferers and carers. Day respite is available for carers and social, mental and physical stimulation for dementia sufferers.
The Day Centre is run in co-operation with the local NHS Trust, it is a large pre-war family house with garden and is open for up to 25 guests for seven days a week, from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.
Guests are provided with refreshments, lunch and transport, covered by a daily charge, assistance is given with feeding where necessary. Health appointments, bathing and hairdressing facilities are available at the Centre. Social outings and events are also arranged from time to time.
