Bromley Local History Society
The Bromley Borough Local History Society was formed to enable anyone with an
interest in any part of the Borough to meet and exchange information and learn
more about it's history.
History is continually being made and at the same time destroyed, buildings
are altered or demolished, memories fade and people pass away, records get
damaged or mislaid. The Local History Society aims to co-operate with the
local history library, museums and other organisations in the Borough to
preserve some of this history for future generations.
Members receive regular newsletters with details of events and articles on the
history of various parts of the Borough. From time to time opportunities also
arise to help with mounting exhibitions of old photographs, assisting with the
preservation of items of historic interest and putting on displays for the
public.
Evening meetings are held in the Methodist Church Hall, North Street, Bromley
on the first Tuesday of the month from September to July.
Newcomers will be made very welcome and you can come along to one of the
meetings before becoming a member. To get more details about the times and
dates of meetings, write to Bromley Borough Local History Society at Woodside,
Old Perry Street, Chislehurst, BR7 6PP.
