Carers Bromley

If you have to look after a relative, friend or child who is disabled, ill or frail, you are among the 1 in every 7 people who is a Carer. It's estimated that there are about 35,000 men, women and children in the Borough of Bromley who have taken on the role of Carer, helping with daily physical needs of a friend or member of the family.

If you are a carer get in touch with Carers Bromley, the Carers information and support service, who can help with information for all Carers in Bromley, and offer advice and support in a variety of practical ways. They know what help is available and how to get these services, including practical home help, day care, information, welfare benefits, transport and equipment. They also have services just for Carers, recognising that they have their own needs and require help, support and information.

Carers Bromley arranges self help groups, a sitters register, a home respite scheme, a daily telephone check-in, an special card to alert emergency services to the situation if the Carer is taken ill or has an accident, plus information on training courses and volunteers, a Carers Forum to give a public voice to the views and needs of carers. And of course there is always someone to talk to in complete confidence. A newsletter is available, and social events are organised as well.
