Spring Park Cine Society
The Spring Park Cine and Video Society meet every Thursday evening at
Griffiths-Jones Hall Emmanuel Church, The Grove, West Wickham. The Society
was formed 30 years ago and although Video has taken over from film, the
techniques are the same and members who have learnt their skills in film
making are happy to pass these on to newcomers to the hobby.
The object of the Society is to provide a meeting place for people interested
in amateur film and video production and to help people make better use of
their cameras. Weekly meetings include some formal sessions featuring
visiting speakers or clubs, where members can receive comments on their own
work.
The formal meetings cover talks by professionals, film shows and competitions.
In addition the society holds workshops on film production techniques and
technical tips, with an annual public show of members films. Information
about the Spring Park Cine and Video Society events is published monthly in
Moviepage, the society's newsheet.
Members are encouraged with movie making as individuals or in groups and can
receive help in the workshop sessions. There are also opportunities to test
equipment and exchange information about new products. The society has a
large screen video projector which is used at meetings and is available for
hire to local clubs. You can attend as a visitor or become a member, by
payment of a nominal annual subscription, with reduced rates for additional
family members.
